KIRIS (Key Impeller Removal & Installation System) was invented by Key Pump and Gear, LLC.   The system was designed to insure proper removal of the impeller to prevent damage to the vanes. The tool is designed so that it engages multiple points along multiple vanes of the impeller, distributing the force applied when removing or assembling the impeller.  This distribution of pressure ensures that an impeller is never distorted or imbalanced due to excessive strain placed on a single vane.  This tool is used in the assembly phase of a rebuild to ensure the impeller is properly seated and torqued to help prevent leakage past the impeller gasket thereby eliminating the chance of liquids getting into the threads of the impeller which could cause damage to both impeller and the shaft.

The input shaft sockets are designed to properly hold the drive end of the pump shaft while removing or installing the impeller.  This tool is designed to apply enough torque on the shaft to properly install or remove the impeller without scoring or otherwise damaging the input shaft or impeller.  The input shaft socket set is compact enough to be stored in the mechanics tool box so they are always handy.  The input shaft sockets are designed to be used only with the mechanics hand tools (combination wrenches, Crescent wrench, etc.) to tighten or loosen impellers from the shaft.  The wrenches and sockets are made of high quality steel for long tool life when properly cared for.

The impeller wrenches come in two sizes to fit the Goulds ST open impellers and the Goulds XLT open impellers.  The socket set is designed to fit the Goulds ST & Durco Group I through the Goulds XLT & Durco Group III input shafts.  This system is the safe, practical way to properly and efficiently assemble or disassemble your rotating equipment.

Use a tool designed by experienced tradesmen to do the job right.  Don’t take chances damaging impellers and setting up vibration which prematurely destroys your expensive rotating equipment.  Don’t risk damaging input shafts and coupling hubs which leads to premature bearing and seal failure by not using the proper tool for the job.

Our system has been developed by skilled tradesmen that make their living repairing, rebuilding, and assembling rotating equipment.  Every mechanic and repair shop should have the KIRIS in their arsenal of essential tools.  This system should make your customers feel more confident having you work on their expensive equipment knowing that you care enough to use the correct tool for the job.
